The news, which was first broken by NBA.com’s David Aldridge, was later confirmed by the team in a series of tweets. According to the Warriors, the two parties have "reached an agreement in principle," with a press conference to be announced once things have been finalized.
With Stan Van Gundy landing in Detroit, the Golden State Warriors redoubled their efforts to bring in Kerr.

According to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, Kerr and the Warriors agreed to a five-year deal worth $25 million.
Kerr met with Warriors team officials prior to working as a game analyst on TNT's broadcast of the Clippers-Warriors Western Conference semifinals on Tuesday (Wednesday, PHL time) in Oklahoma City.
Financial terms prevented a deal with the Knicks from getting done last week. Jackson reportedly met with Kerr in New York two weeks ago.
The Knicks were reportedly balking at paying Kerr "superstar money" of more than $5 million per season.
Though he has never been a head coach at any level, Kerr drew strong interest from the Utah Jazz and the Cleveland Cavaliers, among other teams.
The Warriors offer Kerr a gig closer to his San Diego home and a playoff-ready roster. But Golden State parted with Jackson due to constant friction between Jackson and the front office. - with a report from Reuters / AMD, GMA News
