Man shoots self dead while taking selfie

 

What was supposed to be a daring Facebook selfie for a 21-year-old posing with a gun in Mexico went horribly wrong, after the firearm accidentally went off.

 

Reports on Mexican media identified the victim as Oscar Otero Aguilar, who reportedly had a round of drinks with friends when the incident occurred last July.

 

A report on Mexico's Excelsior news site said Aguilar took a gun to pose for a selfie but the gun went off and hit him in the head.

 

Proceso.com, another news site, said police found a handgun at the site.

 

Meanwhile, a separate report on WFTS Tampa Bay quoted neighbor Manfredo Paez as telling local media he heard a gunshot, then heard someone screaming.

 

"I heard a gunshot, and then I heard somebody screaming and realized somebody had been hurt. I called the police and when they arrived they found that he was still alive," he said.

 

WFTS also reported the victim's previous selfies on his Facebook page "showed him in front of fast cars, sitting on expensive motorcycles, hugging beautiful women and posing in a band." — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
