Ailing sperm whale dies after washing ashore in La Union

A sperm whale died after being washed ashore in San Fernando City in La Union province on Monday.

 

The whale was seen "playing" off Barangay Lingsat before it was washed ashore, GMA's "Unang Balita" reported.

 

It died shortly after being washed ashore, the report said.

 

Residents tried to push it back to sea but could not do so as it weighed about 10 tons.

 

The whale was eventually buried in the area.
