PBA: Talk 'N Text sends Barako back to earth with 16-pt win

After impressive wins against unbeaten Alaska and lowly Kia, the Barako Bull Energy ended their winning streak with a loss against the Talk n' Text Tropang Texters, 122-106, on Sunday.

Jayson Castro led TNT with 26 points, going for 9 of 14 from the field for an impressive 64 percent fieldgoal shooting. The TNT bench was splendid as well, with Jimmy Alapag scoring 14. Larry Fonacier and Ranidel De Ocampo had 13 each, while Aaron Aban added 10. All except two players scored for the Tropang Texters.

TNT shot a good 50.6 percent from the field as a team, putting up 40 points in the first quarter alone. The Tropang Texters added 33 in the second quarter, leading 73-48 at the half. Barako never recovered, barely outscoring TNT 58-49 in the second half.

JC Intal led the starters with 16 points, while Denok Miranda had 12. Paolo Hubalde impressed with 19 points in 24 minutes, while Chico Lanete had 16. Mick Pennisi had 11. — Renee Fopalan/JST, GMA News
