New Year’s morning fire hits QC residential area

(Updated 9:33 a.m.) Fire razed a residential area in Quezon City early Thursday, one of several that hit Metro Manila early morning of New Year's Day.

 

The fire occurred at West Riverside in Barangay Apolonio Samson, radio dzBB's Divine Reyes reported.

 

No one was initially reported injured in the fire, which reached Task Force Alpha as of 7 a.m.

 

A photo tweeted by dzBB's Reyes showed several of the houses in the area were made of light materials.

On the other hand, a video by @MarvinVilla1970 as retweeted by dzBB showed orange flames and black smoke from the fire.

Earlier, a seven-year-old child was killed in a predawn fire in Malate.
