The deadline for submission of qualification documents for the Laguna Lakeshore Expressway-Dike Project has been moved anew by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Prospective bidders may submit prequalification documents for the P122.8 billion public-private partnership (PPP) project until Feb. 27, 2015.
The deadline was moved "to give more time for bidders as they requested even longer periods for extension," DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson said.
The deadline was originally scheduled on Oct. 16, 2014. In October last year, DPWH deferred the deadline to Jan. 14, 2015.
Engr. Amiel Fernandez of DPWH PPP Service, in a separate interview, said 24 firms have bought bid documents for the project.
PPP Center website has identified 24 prospective bidders:

The expressway-dike project seeks to ease the traffic flow and flooding in the Western coastal communities along Laguna Lake, from Bicutan in Taguig to Calamba in Laguna, according to the PPP Center website.
It is expected to help enhance economic development in Laguna by providing access to tourism spots in Southern Luzon.
The project involves the construction of a 47-kilometer, flood-control dike cradling a six-lane toll road.
It covers a 700-hectare reclamation component abutting the expressway-dike and separated from the shoreline by a 100- to 150-meter channel in Taguig and Muntinlupa.
The expressway dike component will cost P64.914 billion while the reclamation component will cost P57.897 billion, according to the DPWH website. —NB, GMA News
