MMDA asks for five-day truck holiday during Pope’s visit

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Monday asked truck operators to declare truck holidays during the five-day visit of Pope Francis to the Philippines.
 
MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino made the appeal at a briefing on preparations for the papal visit, state-run Philippine Information Agency reported.
 
He particularly advised truck operators operating in the Manila port area to declare truck holiday during the duration of the visit in Metro Manila.
 
Pope Francis will arrive on Thursday, Jan. 15. He will be in Metro Manila Jan. 15 and 16. On the 17th, he will be in Leyte.
 
The Pope will be back in Metro Manila Sunday, before departing on Monday, Jan. 19. —Joel Locsin/NB, GMA News
