Pinoy youth boxing champ Daryl Basadre goes for another title in Gensan

WBC youth bantamweight champion Daryl Basadre will look to add another title under his belt when he takes on fellow Filipino Kenny Demecillo for the vacant WBA Oceania bantamweight title on June 7 at Robinsons Mall in General Santos.

"Basadre vs. Demecillo will be a good fight," fight promoter JC Manangquil of Sanman Boxing told GMA News Online.

"Both boxers want to win the title because it will get them into the top 15 WBA world rankings at 118 pounds."

The 22-year-old Basadre (14-1-1, 10KOs) is coming off an impressive 8th round technical knockout victory over Yodsingdaeng Jor Chaijinda this past November. Demecillo (8-3-1, 5KOs), meanwhile, has gone 2-2 in his last four fights. -- JST, GMA News
