PAL cancels Monday flights to and from Batanes

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced the cancellation of its Monday flights bound for Basco, Batanes as Storm Signal No. 2 remains hoisted over the province.

In a Facebook post, PAL advised its passengers that flights PR 2084 from Manila to Basco, and PR 2085 from Basco to Manila, on July 6 are cancelled.

Affected passengers are advised to call PAL at 885-8888 for replacement flights.

Batanes and six other areas are under Signal No. 2 as of Sunday morning as Tropical Storm Egay (Linfa) hovered over Mount Cagagangan in Cagayan, state weather bureau Pagasa said.

Egay is forecast to move northwest at 9 kilometers per hour (kph) and is expected to be 105 km West Northwest of Calayan Island, Cagayan Monday morning.

It is expected to be outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 685 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes by Thursday morning. — Kathrina Charmaine Alvarez/BM, GMA News
