For Alice Dixson, her role Mia in the upcoming series "Marimar" is a great distraction from her grief over the passing of her mother.

"Sa totoo lang, I had no plans on doing a series this month...gusto ko sanang mag-rest," the actress admitted. "Yung mom ko, she passed away nung May 16 so nagrerecover palang ako."

Alice shared that she had already made plans for the rest of the year, but changed her mind when she was offered the role. She started taping for "Marimar" with Ina Raymundo and Zoren Legazpi on Thursday.

"Nabubuhos ko yung drama sa buhay ko sa teleserye na to," she said.

However, the transition from acting in comedies to starring in a soap opera took some adjustment.

"It's my first day, it's a new team, it's a new director...naninibago ako," Alice said. "It's been more than 6 months since gumawa ako ng drama."

Despite this, the former beauty queen said that she is happy to be back in GMA.

"I feel welcomed!" she exclaimed.

"I've been with GMA, I know how GMA works, so it wasn't hard for them to get me again," she added. "Everything just fell into place." —JST, GMA News
