FDCP to screen Lav Diaz epic ‘Mula sa Kung Ano Ang Noon’
The winner of the Golden Leopard at last year's Locarno International Film Festival, Lav Diaz’s five-and-a-half-hour Martial Law-era film “Mula sa Kung ano Ang Noon” will have a special commercial run at the Shang Cineplex from August 12 – 18.
The screening is presented by the Film Development Council of the Philippines and Sine Olivia Pilipinas.
"Mula sa Kung Ano ang Noon" recounts the strange events that befall an isolated village in the Philippines in 1972 during the era of the dictator Ferdinand Marcos, when brutal militias roamed the countryside.
The film also won several awards at the Gawad Urian Awards in June, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Editing.
It also received the Grand Festival Prize at the first World Premieres Film Festival Philippines in June 2014. — BM, GMA News
