Feng shui a factor in certain politicians' filing of COCs, says geomancer
Aside from surveys and advice from their family and political parties, politicians apparently seek consultations from feng shui experts before filing their respective Certificates of Candidacy (COCs).
Feng shui master Marites Allen told "24 Oras" on Wednesday that many politicians ask for a forecast during the election period.
“Ang unang-unang tinatanong siyempre is panahon na ba na tumakbo ako sa politics. Siyempre nandoon din 'yung anong araw, anong oras kung kailan sila puwedeng mag-file,” the geomancer said.
Filing of COCs opened last Monday and will close on Friday. With only two days remaining for candidates who want to file, Allen said that it might be better to submit COCs on Thursday.
“Although October 16 is a good day I also would like to remind that this is an ox day. Ox is the enemy of the sheep so parang the whole day is super kontra for the whole year, baka puwede kang magkaroon ng obstacles along the way,” she said.
Based on the Chinese Zodiac tradition, 2015 is the year of the sheep.
For politicians who want to file on Friday, bringing lucky charms can counter the adverse effects of filing COCs on that day, she said.
But while there are a lot of things that can be done to increase luck, she noted that what they were telling their clients are only recommendations, saying the decision will still be in the hands of the politician at the end of the day. —Andrei Medina/JST, GMA News
