Heart Evangelista shares beauty secrets in new book

Bukod sa pagiging isang magaling na artista at painter, isa na ring ganap na book author ang Kapuso actress at “Beautiful Strangers” star na si Heart Evangelista.

Nitong Linggo, inilabas na ang “This is Me, Love Marie,” ang kauna-unahang beauty guide na gawa ng isang Filipino actress.

Laman nito ang ilan sa mga praktikal na beauty tips at skincare guide mula mismo sa isa sa pinakamagandang aktres sa industriya, at dito rin ibinahagi ni Heart ang ilan sa mga natutuhan niya mula sa 17 taon sa showbiz.

Dito raw ipapakilala ni Heart ang tunay niyang pagkatao, at kung paano niya dinala ang pagiging Missy mula sa hit Filipino youth-oriented TV show na “G-Mik,” na siyang naging daan upang makilala siya bilang isang magaling na artista.

“I've been in the industry for almost 17 years now and I think have gone through so much and I thought that it was just right for me to come up with a book to share not just beauty tips, but also life experiences, quotes. It's my experiences, my heartaches, my let-downs. Everything altogether made me who I am today, and makes me feel confident and secure about myself. I felt that I needed to get that out. I needed to inspire people,” aniya sa panayam ng GMA News Online.

Dagdag pa ng Kapuso actress, “I've always been know to be the kikay, maarte, pero mabuting tao naman. I never left Missy of 'G-Mik' behind. She's always with me. From that stage of my life to where I am today, I felt that it would be best for me to come up with a book that would give all of my beauty secrets. It's like writing a diary and giving it away.”

Nais niya raw iparating sa lahat na higit sa ano pa mang makeup o skincare product, pinakamahalaga pa rin ang mabuting kalooban at tiwala sa sarili.

“A lot of what happens with your skin is what's in your heart. If you stress too much about everything, it'll show in the skin. You have to be in a good place. You have to be a positive person, and the rest will follow. Make-up is just icing on the cake. Everything has to be from the heart,” ayon kay Heart.

Ibinahagi rin ni Heart sa naganap na book launch nitong Sabado kung paano niya nalalampasan ang kabi-kabilang bashing sa social media.

Aniya, “Being a celebrity, especially with social media, is not easy at all. Everybody's waiting for you to make a mistake. You miss a comma, or whatever, that's it, you're bullied. But coming from where I am, I needed to get the word out and inspire people that you can look better and you can feel good.”

Bukod sa “This is Me, Love Marie,” bahagi rin si Heart ng children's book na “Daughter of the Sun and Moon,” kung saan nagsilbi siyang illustrator. — BM, GMA News
