Pinoys in Las Vegas cheer Pia Wurtzbach on to victory

After more than 40 years and a series of "almost wins," the Philippines finally took the Miss Universe crown home.

Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, a 26-year-old half-German hopeful from Cagayan de Oro City, won the title after three tries in Binibining Pilipinas and an error during the announcement of winners in the Miss Universe 2015 pageant.

Pia's underdog story caught the attention of many—including bashers—but she maintained her grace and kept her eyes on the prize. Her strong will attracted fans and on December 21, the nation couldn't help but support her dreams to do her country proud.

Pinoys in Las Vegas didn't fail to make her feel the love, cheering for her every step of the way to the crown. In the videos by Marvin Tomandao, the love of the audience for Pia Wurtzbach can be heard loud and clear.
