Santos-Deguito repeats request for Senate executive session

Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) Jupiter branch manager Maia Santos-Deguito on Thursday reiterated her request before the Senate blue ribbon committee to hold an executive session so she could talk about what she knows regarding the $81-million money laundering scheme.

"I have already requested for an executive session (I will answer questions there)," Deguito said at the start of Thursday's hearing.

She was replying to the committee head Teofisto Guingona III who asked her if she knew a certain Jason Go.

To the same question, a representative of RCBC said that Go was a valued client of the bank and was the one who recommended that Deguito be assigned to the bank branch on Jupiter Street in Makati City.

"It (the recommendations) went up to me, the executive committee, and eventually the board," the representative said.

For his part, RCBC President and CEO Lorenzo V. Tan said that he knew Go as the businessman was well-known in the Makati area as a car dealer. – VDS, GMA News
