BOC to auction more than P7M worth of merchandise
The Bureau of Customs (BOC) will be auctioning more than P7 million worth of various merchandise at the Port of Manila, the agency announced on Tuesday.
The Public Auction Sale, which will be conducted by the Port of Manila's Auction and Cargo Disposal Division next Monday, is in accordance with the provisions of the the Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines.
According to Sections 2061 to 2610 of the code, certain property under the custody of the BOC are subject to sale. These properties include items abandoned at the port, as well as contraband seized by the BOC.
Among the items up for bidding are used industrial machinery, assorted grocery items, auto spare parts, aquarium accessories, used bicycles, assorted toys, motorcycle parts, a used Harley Davidson Softail motorcycle, and other assorted items such as houseware, kitchenware, and RTW clothing.
The total value of the items to be auctioned is P7, 015, 223. 20, the BOC said.
Public viewing of the merchandise will be available to all qualified bidders at the Asian Terminals Inc.- Inland Clearance Depot in Laguna on Thursday and at the Asian Terminals Inc., South Harbor on Friday. — Jessica Bartolome/DVM, GMA News
