The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will launch on Tuesday an online database of traffic violators apprehended in the recently implemented No-Contact Apprehension Policy.
Dubbed as “Na-HuliCam Ka Ba?”, the database allows motorists to check online whether they have committed a traffic violation.
Among the data to be made available are the vehicle's license plate number, location, date and time the traffic violation was committed and the action taken by the MMDA.
Motorists are given seven days upon the receipt of notice from the MMDA to contest the citation.
Under the No-Contact Apprehension policy, traffic constables will no longer flag down violators and instead take pictures of the license plate numbers of passenger buses found violating traffic rules along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue.
Apprehension tickets will then be sent to the bus companies and coordinated with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and Land Transportation, Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
On the first day of the policy's implementation on April 15, authorities recorded over 200 violations.
Since then more than 4,000 violations have been recorded. — APG, GMA News
