Cebu Pacific on Wednesday said it will increase the frequency of its flights to Doha, Qatar, starting July.

In an emailed statement, the budget carrier said it will fly between Manila and Doha three times a week beginning July 9, 2016.

Currently, Manila-Doha flights are every Monday and Thursday while Doha-Manila flights are every Tuesday and Friday.

An additional flight will depart from Manila every Saturday at 02:45 p.m. and arrive in Doha at 07:15 p.m. while the return flight will leave Doha at 08:55 p.m and arrive in Manila at 11:25 a.m. the following day.

"We hope that with our additional frequency and lowest year-round fares, they (Filipinos) will be encouraged to fly back home and reunite with their families and friends more often," CEB General Manager for Long Haul Division Alex Reyes said.

Cebu Pacific noted that is the only Philippine carrier that has non-stop flights between the Manila and Qatar, which houses the third-largest Filipino community in the Middle East.

The additional flight will be utilizing the company's Airbus A330 aircraft with a configuration of 436 all-economy class seats. —Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/JST, GMA News
