President-elect Rodrigo Duterte visited Cebu City on Wednesday to attend his thanksgiving party with his supporters in his first trip out of Davao City since winning the presidency.

Duterte arrived at Cebu Country Club around 8 p.m. and thanked his supporters including the Visayan group called “Bisaya Napud” who went all-out in supporting his presidential bid, a report on News To Go by Ian Cruz on Thursday said.

He also expressed gratitude to Cebuano businessman Michael Dino who was appointed Presidential Assistant in Visayas.

Duterte presented some of his projects which will be implemented once he takes office in Malacañang. He reiterated his core platforms against illegal drugs, and crime and corruption.

Before his running-mate, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, introduced him to the audience, Baste Duterte also gave a speech and thanked his father's supporters.

Baste is Duterte's son with his former wife Elizabeth Zimmerman.

Duterte welcomed well-wishers and the media outside of the country club before proceeding to another engagement in Mandaue, Cebu and once again thanked his supporters who paved the way for a Visayan president.

Duterte also apologized for his more restricted moves because of the security protocols of the Presidential Security Group (PSG).

"Sorry kaayo na kontrolado na ang akong [lihok]. Dili man na sila magpabuot. Sila man ang magbuot sa akong [lihok]. Naay panahon na magsugnod ta ani (My movements are restricted. They cannot be dictated. They plan my movements. There will come a time that we will discuss this)," he said.

The report said the PSG no longer allows the use of the park outside Duterte's home in Davao City and has allotted a parking lot away from the house.

Duterte's security during his public engagements also resembles that of an actual president, including his advance parties.

Asked when he would hold his next press conference, Duterte said he has no plans of having any as of the moment.
