IT glitch shuts down LTO nationwide
An information technology (IT) glitch has shutdown transactions nationwide at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) for two hours Thursday morning.
The problem was resolved just before 10:30 a.m.
"Ang masasabi ko lang sa ngayon ay as of 10:28 a.m. na-restore na 'yung system. Hinahanap pa ng IT provider ano ang nag-cause nito para ma-prevent na sa susunod," LTO chief Edgardo Galvante told GMA News Online.
The situatioin prompted the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to issue a separate advisory telling motorists securing or renewing drivers' licenses not to proceed to LTO offices nationwide.
"Please be informed that all LTO offices nationwide are currently offline. Please reschedule your transactions," Department of Transportation (DOTr) said.
Galvante has ordered immediate action to solve the problem, it added.
As of 10:57 a.m. transactions seemed back to normal at the LTO central office along East Avenue in Quezon City. — VDS, GMA News
