Mocha Uson refuses to get paid for MTRCB job

Newly-appointed board member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) and noted blogger Mocha Uson on Friday said she has made a request not to be given a salary for her new position.

"Tinanggap ko po itong pagiging board ng MTRCB sa kondisyon na wala po akong tatanggaping sweldo. Sana po ay kanilang tanggapin ito," Uson declared in her official statement after her appointment.

Uson added that if they insist on giving her compensation, she will be forwarding the money to charity.

"At kung hindi naman, ibibigay ko po ang 100% na sahod ko sa Duterte's Kitchen (DK) at sa DSWD Centers/Projects," she said in her statement.

Uson swore to her followers that she will take a video each time she receives her salary, to show that it will go directly to DK and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) centers.

After thanking her over four million followers for their continued support, Uson reiterated that she has no political ambitions and would rather stay out of politics.

Uson said that she accepted the position in the spirit of "volunteerism."

"Nabalitaan ko po sa ilang supporters na nangangailangan ng tulong ang Duterte Administration sa larangan ng MTRCB dahil marami daw po ang tumanggi sa position na ito dahil mababa ang sahod," she told her followers.

She added, "Kaya akin pong naisip na tumulong po dahil ang ating isinusulong ay bolunterismo."

Uson was appointed as an MTRCB board member on Thursday and received praise from the Palace as one of the country's greatest artists. Her first order of business in her new position is to remove "soft porn" on television. —KBK, GMA News
