LAPU-LAPU, CEBU — Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Amando M. Tetangco Jr. on Monday said his successor could be named in a month.
Ahead of the BSP-Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum Debate, moderator Rico Hizon asked the outgoing central bank chief how many more weeks before an announcement can be expected.
Tetangco said in four weeks.
The central bank governor is set to retire on July 2. Previously, he said he wanted someone from the BSP to succeed him, preferably Deputy Governors Nestor A. Espenilla Jr. or Diwa C. Guinigundo. — VDS, GMA News
