Cargo ship catches fire in Bulan, Sorsogon; no fatality reported

Thick black smoke billows from the burning cargo vessel being docked at the Bulan Port in Sorsogon.

According to Philippine Coast Guard-Bulan (PCG-Bulan), the fire broke out suddenly on MV Cooperative, shortly before the vessel could begin its voyage to Ticao Island in Masbate.

Citing PCG information, "Unang Balita" reported that the fire was immediately put out, and that no fatality was reported, and only some crew members sustained minor injuries.

An investigation into the cause of fire is ongoing, according to the PCG. —LBG, GMA News
