Would you like to wear a ring with 12,638 diamonds in it? Well, such a ring has already been created by jeweler Harshit Bansal, founder of Renani Jewels in Meerut, India, and it currently holds the World Guinness Record for the “Most Diamonds Set In One Ring.”

Harshit's company broke the record previously held by another Indian jewelry company, the Hyderabad-based Hallmark Jewellers, which created a camellia design with 7,801 diamonds in it.

Harshit was first inspired to break the record when he was still studying jewelry design in Surat, India in 2018. He began work on his record-breaking 18-karat gold ring called the Marigold in the same year.

The Marigold, also dubbed as ”The Ring of Prosperity,” has a circular band with an ornate floral design, which is embellished with 12,638 38.08 carat-natural diamonds.

Each diamond was tested natural and contains EF colour and VVS clarity. Moreover, Renani Jewels says that they are “the best qualities of diamond used in jewelry worldwide.”

It was certified by the International Gemological Institute (IGI), one of the most renowned laboratories for diamond jewelry certification worldwide.

The massive eight-layer floral ring weighs a little over 165 grams (5.8 oz) and Renani Jewels says it is comfortable to wear despite containing thousands of diamonds in it.

Each petal design is unique, meaning no two petals have the same design , which gives the record-breaking floral ring the ideal blend of “organic symmetry, design and alignment.”

In Indian culture, the marigold flower is believed to bring prosperity and luck, and sure enough the Marigold brought Harshit his lucky break in November when he finally broke the record for the “Most Diamonds Set In One Ring.”

But there's one big catch to this: the Marigold is actually not for sale. Well, at least not at the moment.

So, for those hoping to get their hands on the record-breaking jewelry, you'd have to wait until Harshit changes his mind.

The Philippines has yet to achieve a GWR in the field of fashion just like the Marigold, but hopefully soon the country will finally get one.

Some of the GWR from the Philippines are the “Largest Shot Slam” held in Naga City Coliseum in December 2010, Taal Volcano's “Largest Island In A Lake On An Island In A Lake On An Island” record, “Most Mentos And Soda Fountains,” “Most Fireworks Rockets Launched In 30 Seconds,” “Shortest Living Man” record and the “World's Largest Crocodile In Captivity” record previously held by Lolong.

One of the recent GWR achieved by Filipinos is the “Largest Filipino Folk Dance,” which was held in Sorsogon Province on October 31, 2019.

It had 7,127 participants performing the folk dance called “Pantomina sa Tinampo,” which resembles the courtship movements of doves.

The dance was led by Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero and his wife, Kapuso star and Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista.
