Wholesome Table, a dining spot popular for their organic comfort food, now joins the list of restaurants that will temporarily suspend its operations, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to take a toll on the restaurant industry.

Wholesome Table broke the sad news to their patrons in a post on their official Facebook account.

Part of the post read: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce that The Wholesome Table will be temporarily suspending all operations until the world starts to normalize.

“We want to thank everyone who has continued to support us throughout the last few months.

“We are hoping this is just a small roadblock, and we'll be back soon to welcome you to your wholesome table.

"We're currently doing our best to find solutions so we can open our doors again. In the meantime, be safe, be healthy, be well."

Before the announcement, Wholesome Table welcomed back dine-in guests in June as Metro Manila was placed under a more relaxed quarantine.

They also made their food available for takeout and delivery.

However, as stated in their Facebook post, the last few months have been difficult for them, just like for many other restaurants worldwide, and this is what led them to make the difficult decision.

Wholesome Table was founded in 2014 by former model and socialite Bianca Araneta-Elizalde and they have five branches in Metro Manila.

Other restaurants in the country that have ceased operations due to the consequences of the pandemic are the iconic Shangri-La Finest Chinese Cuisine in Quezon City and Baguio's Forest House.
