Coronavirus Watch: Myths and Facts about COVID-19

The Coronavirus Disease 2019, also referred to as the COVID-19, has globally spread over a short period especially with the absence of a vaccine. With the rising cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines, people have become more guarded for their safety and are actively finding more ways to prevent the deadly virus - mostly on the Internet.

Pinoy MD reminds the public to be extra cautious about what you read on the Internet because there is some health advice circulating online that are not confirmed effective.

One of which is a recipe that certifies “overnight improvement and healing” for COVID-19 patients. Another one also claims that drinking bleach can cure the fatal virus.

According to Pinoy MD, “All of this is not true, and the worst thing is that it can pose danger to your health.” “Lahat ng ito ay hindi totoo, at makasasama pa lalo sa kalusugan.”

At the moment, the best recommendation from experts is to wear face masks, use alcohol or hand sanitizers, and eat immunity-boosting food. Pinoy MD also gave three tips on how to prevent COVID-19 infection.
