Katarina Rodriguez says anxiety had crept into her mind because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Model-beauty queen Katarina Rodriguez on Thursday related to her followers that she documented her stay in Siargao island amid enhanced community quarantine implemented in whole Luzon in a bid to contain the spread of 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In her Instagram post, the Miss Intercontinental Philippines 2017 said that her first video explains the events that led to how she decided not to fly back to Manila and stay on the island instead.

She wrote, “'ll be documenting our quarantine here in Siargao through YouTube. This first video explains the events that led to how I decided to not get on the plane back to Manila a week ago.

“Despite being in 'paradise' there's a lot of anxiety in being so confused and far from my family.

“Siargao is a smaller-scale representation of what's happening nationally and globally. I'll be posting daily on what's happening on the island, hopefully being of help to those who need verified, on the ground information.

“I also talk about my personal experiences of being here and my thoughts on mental health during this time of uncertainty.”

Along with the announcement is a black and white photo of her dazzling in a bikini.

In another post, Katarina shared that while she's safe and sound on the island, she is starting to feel anxious thinking of life in Manila during this difficult time.

What a mess we've made. Ready or not, this world is about to change. Looking at this situation from Siargao, I feel grateful to be here yet my mind is not free from anxiety. I can only imagine the gravity of what's happening outside the island. My family is all spread out, my heart hurts, but the sun is shining bright. As Alan Watts said, “...life seems to be so peculiarly insecure and uncertain.” So, come what may, and welcome to this time of solitude. 🕊 @choyakzchoy
