Aside from doing a movie in Canada and her reality show, Running Man Philippines, still on air, award-winning Kapuso actress Glaiza De Castro and her husband David Rainey are set to open a new business venture, too.

In an exclusive interview with 24 Oras, the Sparkle talent told Kapuso showbiz reporter Lhar Santiago that they are busy preparing for the opening of their café in Baler, Aurora.

“Opening of our café next year, hopefully next year.” Glaiza then added that the family of Rainey will be visiting the country soon, “And then 'yung pamilya niya rin po ay pupunta ng Pilipinas for the first-time and we are also getting ready for that and 'yung wedding sa Philippines.”

Another big surprise that happened to Glaiza this 2022 is the news that she won Best Actress in the 29th Filipino International Cine Festival for her performance in the movie Liway.

Reacting to the news, the Kapuso star stated it's nice to learn that the film continues to reap accolades since it was first shown in the 2018 Cinemalaya film festival.

“After four years nakakatanggap pa rin 'yung Liway ng mga recognitions nakarating na kami ng States.”

Currently, Glaiza is focused on her movie shoot in Toronto, Canada, which is a collaboration project between a Filipino-Canadian group and the Canadian government.

In her chat with Lhar, she shared her experience doing a movie abroad.

“Masaya kasi may mga kababayan din tayo. Meron din mga ibang people from like Russia. So, ibang work ethic, sobrang efficient.”

Glaiza also revealed some details of the story of her film project, which is about a husband and wife, who migrated to Canada.

“Bagong salta sa Canada napilitan siya magtrabaho sa warehouse, so kaya nandito po kami sa warehouse ngayon. Ito po 'yung outfit ko and parang they are just trying to survive.”
