'Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation)' actors Dingdong Dantes and Rocco Nacino attended the donning of ranks at the Naval Station Jose Andrada in the Philippine Navy Headquarters in Roxas Blvd., Manila.
Donning of ranks of Dingdong and Rocco and other reserve force and reserve officers happened during the Monday Morning Colors, January 27.
Both Dingdong and Rocco are now Navy reservists.
From being a Master Sergeant of the Philippine Marines reserve command, Dingdong has been promoted to Lieutenant Commander of the Philippine Navy reserve command.
In an interview with GMA reporters, Dingdong clarified, "Ang Philippine Marines po ay under ng Philippine Navy. Nagpa-enlist po ako sa Marines noong 2006 and lahat po ng promotion, kailangan po dumaan sa mother branch which is 'yung Philippine Navy. So, technically, ngayon under Philippine Navy ako pero, later, babalik din ako sa Marines."
Present at the ceremonies were his wife, Marian Rivera, and his mom, Angeline Dantes.
Rocco was officially recognized as Petty Officer Third Class of the Philippine Navy reserve command during the ceremony. He graduated from his Basic Civilian's Military Training in October 2019.
Rocco's parents, Linda and Ralph Nacino, showed support for their son's latest achievement.
Dingdong gave an inspiring speech at the last part of the ceremony.
Marian is one proud wife.
Philippine Navy flag-officer-in-command Vice Admiral Robert Empedrad (in khaki uniform) who donned Dingdong and Rocco's rank insignia, posed for a photo with the actors.
