A restaurant in Iloilo City has combined cuteness and safety in its social distancing measures by putting stuffed animals on empty seats in their establishment.

According to the management of the resto, it is their way of keeping their customers safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic, while still providing an enjoyable dining experience.

A Vietnamese restaurant in Thailand has also utilized the same strategy by placing cute stuffed pandas on vacant chairs to ensure that people keep a safe distance when they dine-in, and also to prevent diners from feeling isolated.

On June 2, the government has allowed restaurants in places under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) to gradually reopen and resume dine-in services at a maximum of 50 percent of their seating capacity.

Places that will be under the MGCQ until June 15 are the Cordillera Administrative Region, Regions I (except Pangasinan), IV-B, V, VI, VIII, IX (except Zamboanga City), X, XI (except Davao City) and XII, CARAGA, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be under the general community quarantine (GCQ) until June 30, unless the government deems it appropriate to put these places to MGCQ sooner.
