Celebrity couple Aubrey Miles and Troy Montero join the trendy post-nuptial shoot called “trash the dress” on Camiguin Island.
The special photo shoot was a dream come true for Aubrey and Troy, who got married in a civil wedding in June 2022. It was prepared by The Wedding Library PH for its Bridal Fair on February 10, 11, & 12 at The World Trade Center, Pasay City.
“First time namin magkaroon ng isang [shoot para sa] bridal fair. Nakikita namin 'to palagi sa billboard and it's one of our goals, so sabi ko sa kanya [Troy] we have to explore during the shoot,” said Aubrey in an interview with GMANetwork.com and PEP.ph after their photo shoot in August 2022.
Troy added, “We get excited now that we've gotten married, 'Oh, maybe now there's a chance to be there one day,' and now it's true. And it's very cool that we're able to travel here in Camiguin.”
According to Winnie Natividad, the main organizer of The Wedding Library's Bridal Fair, “'Trash the Dress' is usually done post-nuptial wherein the bride wears her wedding dress one more time to 'trash' it as a symbol of saying goodbye to her life before the wedding - and moving on to the new chapter. Here in the Philippines where wedding gowns are mostly custom-made, Trash the Dress shoots usually use a second (simpler) white gown instead.
“Nowadays 'Trash the Dress' can also be done during a prenup shoot for those who want a sexy beach photo concept. Many shoots include soaking the wedding dress on the beach, dirtying the dress, applying color such as paint, and even tearing the gown.”
In Camiguin, Aubrey and Troy visited its famous White Island and Katibawasan Falls to do the “trash the dress” post-nuptial shoot.
