Must-visit: Snoopy, Doraemon, and Hello Kitty museums in Japan and South Korea

Cartoon characters are often admired for their cuteness or relatable traits. Fans often watch movies and collect items inspired by them. Sometimes, they even customize belongings to include an image of their beloved cartoon character.

But did you know that there are museums dedicated to certain popular cartoon characters?

Some cartoon characters are just so iconic and have amassed a huge fandom that museums have been built in their honor. See if your beloved cartoon character has its very own museum in the list below.

Snoopy Museum

The Snoopy Museum in Tokyo, Japan is a must-visit for any true-blue Snoopy fan. They have a gallery dedicated to Peanuts creator Charles Schulz and a Peanuts Gang gallery where you can learn more about them.

A new attraction in the museum is the Snoopy Room, where you can take lots of selfies with different adorable versions of Snoopy, including an eight meter-long sleeping Snoopy.

They also have a café and a store where you can get yourself original Snoopy and Peanuts Gang merchandise.

Fujiko F. Fujio Museum (Doraemon Museum)

The “Doraemon Museum” in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan is actually a museum named after his creator, Fujiko F. Fujio. The place was built to showcase his works and the star of the museum is definitely the well-loved cat robot, Doraemon.

Original Doraemon drawings and the author's favorite desk are part of the exhibit. They also have cute monuments of Doraemon at the museum, as well as a café, theater, manga reading corner, rooftop playground, and a gift shop.

Hello Kitty Island

Hello Kitty is also another iconic feline cartoon character. There is an entire museum dedicated to the world-famous cartoon character in Je-ju do, South Korea called Hello Kitty Island.

You can learn more about Hello Kitty's history and see her house and room in the said museum. They also have different art galleries, a 3D theater, indoor playground, activity area, gift shop and a Hello Kitty Café.
