Kapuso actress Andrea Torres has admitted before that she's been hurt and brokenhearted. However, she also made sure that she was able to move on and for her, the way to do that is to have acceptance.
In an interview on Updated with Nelson Canlas, the Maria Clara at Ibarra star said that her first step to moving on from a heartbreak is acceptance.
“Kailangan ma-accept mo lang na tapos na. Kumbaga nangyari na siya, tapos na, para mapunta ka na doon sa next step na 'o ano ng gagawin ko?' Parang kailangan lang maluwag lang sa puso mo,” she said.
She added that she just needed to remove the hurt in her heart, accept what happened, then ask for guidance on what she needed to do next. The actress also mentioned how a support system composed of family and friends will really help.
“Parang nakakatuwa kasi sa lahat ng challenges ko sa life laging may tao na pinapakilala sa akin na parang may impact sa buhay ko,” she added, saying that any changes in her life were brought out by the people she met and that she became the person she is today because of that meeting.
Andrea also mentioned how important closure is to a relationship as a means of respect for each other. She admitted though that it might not always happen, but “at least man lang huwag lang 'yung bigla ka na lang iiwan sa ere.”
“Minsan kasi kahit na mag-usap kayo, hindi naman talaga kayo ['yung] masasabi mong nag-part ways nang okay,” she said, but that it is enough as closure as long as the two people were able to talk about it.
She added that she was able to have closure from past relationships. However, she admitted that she doesn't have someone who she considers "The One That Got Away.”
In August, Andrea opened up about her breakup with actor Derek Ramsey in 2020. She said that she's enjoying discovering and loving herself and that she's not looking for 'The One' right now, believing that it will come once she's ready for it.
