Chariz Solomon is grateful to have finally received half of the talent fee she was owed for her stint on the now-defunct noontime show Tahanang Pinakamasaya.
The actress-host shared the update during her guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Monday, August 18, where she was asked about the delayed payment issue involving the show's hosts and staff.
“I'm happy to announce... first and exclusive here!” Chariz said with a laugh.
She then revealed that the hosts have already received 50% of their unpaid talent fees.
“Tito Boy, masayang-masaya po akong i-share na naibigay na nila yung 50 percent sa aming mga host. I believe sa iba rin sa staff at production. I think nauna pa yata sila,” she said.
Chariz clarified that while they were not angry over the delayed payments, the situation was difficult because they also had financial responsibilities.
She recalled that they went for two months without receiving their pay, during which they had to turn down other work opportunities because they had prioritized Tahanang Pinakamasaya.
Despite the challenges, Chariz said she continues to receive criticism for accepting a hosting role on the show.
“It's sad kasi… guys, kahit hindi namin 'yon tanggapin, may ibang tatanggap nu'n, may ibang gagawa nu'n. The show will go on. It must. So, tinanggap namin kasi kailangan namin ng work,” she said.
Looking back, however, Chariz said being part of a noontime show was a memorable experience for her.
“Sobrang ang dami naming natutunan. Ibang klase yung pagod, ibang klase rin yung saya… mga taong nakikilala mo,” she said.
