Sharon Cuneta is proud of Frankie Pangilinan's unshakable stand on rape

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

Megastar Sharon Cuneta once again became the number one supporter of her daughter, Frankie Pangilinan, in sharing her stand against rape culture in the country.

In a lengthy post, the singer and actress declared to her millions of followers how proud she is of her daughter and how she wished she wouldn't change until her death bed.

“I am so very proud of you.”

Katipunera blood

Sharon then turned to the audience by addressing certain issues concerning Frankie's statement.

First, the singer clarified that while she and husband Kiko Pangilinan are strict when it comes to how their kids dress, one should not blame the victims for being raped.

She advised the public to start educating themselves and read how victims of rape and sexual assault have dealt with their respective physical and emotional traumas.

Sharon then reminded readers that while Frankie is still a teenager, within her lies the genes of strong women and men who fought for the country centuries ago.

“I am proud that Kakie is my daughter. What a shame if she weren't a warrior like her dad and mother are, and her lolo and great great grandmothers were! Siya ay aking anak. Ella es mija.”

“You make me brave”

In the comments section, Frankie thanked her mom for the kind words she's written by simply writing, “you make me brave.”

Meanwhile on Twitter, the 19-year-old coyly addressed her mom's lengthy post and shared how she should be the one to restrain her mom rather than the other way around.

She said, “The first half reads like a romantic roast tho not gonna lie,” pertaining to how Sharon mentioned that she's not romantically linked to anyone as of late.

“Wala akong boyfriend dahil ipinangako ko sa sarili ko na hindi ako magse-settle for anyone who tolerates or weirdly beholds my energy instead of balancing it.

“I've been there, done that. If you can't fight me I don't like it. Next!”
