Frankie Pangilinan to netizens: 'My personal convictions don't reflect the rest of my family's views'

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

Frankie () Pangilinan, daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, makes it clear to her followers and critics that she is her own woman based on a tweet she's written dated March 26.

She wrote: “My personal convictions don't reflect the rest of my family's views and vice versa.”

She followed it up by saying, “I'm a whole woman with a brain, okay?

“Like, [I am] still growing up and definitely still learning. But don't come for my parents or my family if you disagree with me because I'm the one who should be held accountable for my own choices and actions and I'm committed to growth.

“Just wanted to put that out there.”

The series of tweets were in response to her bashers who criticized her voicing her opinions on the social media site.

Frankie is the talk of the town as of recently due to the recent statements she's made about the issues revolving around COVID-19.

Recently, she shared a text message between her and her father Kiko Pangilinan regarding the bill granting access to President Rodrigo Duterte to exercise additional power to address the COVID-19 crisis.

In the text message, Frankie blatantly asked her father whether or not the bill would largely affect the masses to which the senator replied, “We have removed a lot of the controversial positions.”

The young writer also opened up about the negative comments she's received on Instagram that resulted in her turning off her comments section on the photo-sharing platform.

She shared, “I'm turning off [the] comments on my Instagram because I woke up to this. I've never gotten this volume of commentary before. This isn't even political discourse, it's just blatant negativity --- the kind of energy we don't need to foster at this time.

“And the best part is, if they [only] took the time to read and empathetically understand what I was saying instead of skimming it like a mild read, all their concerns would be addressed.”
