Mika dela Cruz creates donation site as part of COVID-19 relief aid

By Dianara Alegre

Kapuso actress Mika dela Cruz has been relentless in helping her townmates in Malabon arm themselves against the lethal health threat 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Her latest relief effort is the creation of crowdfunding website called SHARE THE CARE (PPE for our FRONTLINERS).

Mika said that it took her weeks to set up the said page.

“I'm so grateful to all of them for accepting my offer and allowing this to happen! I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH.

“This is a fund-raising movement wherein you can help us provide PPE for our dear FRONTLINERS,” she added.

Mika also noted that accumulated funds will be used for the procurement of masks, face shields and personal protective suits (PPE).

“Our “CARE PIECES” include CARE MASKS / CARE SHIELDS / CARE SUITS that will all be donated to our chosen hospitals/medical centers here in Metro Manila,” she said.

She also asked the public for their help in raising the much-needed fund to help protect the medical practitioners.

“Our in-house team is capable of producing these pieces everyday. It would be great and much-appreciated if you can help us fulfill our mission by funding some of the said CARE PIECES!

“The more funds we raise, the more PPE's we can donate and the more medical practitioners we can help!

“During this time of crisis, let's all help and build each other up. This is the best time to show our real values, intentions and continue being our best selves for others at the comfort of our homes. Help us help them and let's all!! #SHARETHECARE,” said Mika.

Mika started the fundraising campaign Tuesday evening and in just less than 24 hours, the donations have reached more than PhP 120,000.

Prior to this, Mika personally handed protection suits to the selfless frontliners who continue to do service even in times like this.
