Valentine's Day got even better and merrier as Buluan Maguindanao's Bapa Maxx, 63, and Venus Usman, 23, exchanged “I do's” before their families and friends, February 14.

Not minding their huge age difference, which is 40 years, the newly-wedded couple proudly shared to the public their May-December affair.

Aside from closest relatives and family, Bapa and Venus's ceremony looked like a festival as other residents attended the grand wedding, too. Various prominent Datus and leaders of Maguindanao were also invited in the event.

Meanwhile, because of their age gap, Venus became the center of gossips in the town as she was wrongfully accused of marrying an old wealthy man.

“Sa totoo lang po, marami akong manliligaw pero binabalewala ko lang po sila,” said Venus.

Venus also shared that she was previously married to a man at age 22; and Bapa, who was at that time a Barangay Captain, officiated the ceremony.

“'Yung asawa ko po dati, iniwan lang po ako. Tapos 'yung anak namin, namatay dahil sa kanya. Kasi marami siyang babae,” she added.

After the incident, Venus met a man that made her heart fall in love, again and it's no other than Bapa.

Their relationship was questioned at first, but with firm standpoint, their romance were soon accepted and started to flourish.

As the saying goes, age doesn't really matter, and it's true for these lovebirds.
