Miss Universe Philippines extends voting for swimsuit challenge

By Ron Lim

Pageants fans will have more time to push their favorites to the top as the Miss Universe Philippines organization has just announced an extension to the voting for the pageant's Swimsuit Challenge.

In one of Miss Universe Philippines' latest Instagram posts, the organization announced that the voting for the Swimsuit Challenge will now end on April 23, giving fans another full week to vote on the Miss Universe Philippines app. The organization also directed fans to a YouTube channel if they needed a refresher on the candidates' photoshoots.

The extension of the voting for the Swimsuit Challenge comes after the announcement of the Photoshoot Challenge winners last week. Miss Agusan del Norte Jannarie Zarzoso, Miss Bulacan Princess Anne Marcos, Miss Eastern Samar Airissh Ramos, Miss Pampanga Angelique Manto, and Miss Quezon Province Lesly Sim were announced as the top five.

Once the top five queens are decided for the Swimsuit Challenge, the queens will then take on the Runway Challenge, which presumably starts on the 24th and the voting lasting until the 30th of May.

Doing well in the challenges helps the participating queens carve a path to the La Mer en Majeste crown up for grabs on the coronation night on May 13.

Hosting this year's coronation night are Kapuso leading men Alden Richards and Xian Lim, with Miss Globe 2021 Maureen Montagne and Tim Yap as backstage hosts.

Two past Miss Universe winners will also be part of the coronation night, with Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi acting as a guest host and current reigning Miss Universe R'Bonney Gabriel having a “special participation” during the coronation night.
