'My Husband's Lover' nominated in the 9th Seoul International Drama Awards

After winning five citations in the 5th Golden Screen TV Awards, the phenomenal drama series My Husband's Lover is now nominated in the Serial Drama category of this year's Seoul International Drama Awards.

It is one of five entries from the Philippines.

Organized by the Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee and the Korean Broadcasters Association, the 9th Seoul International Drama Awards will be held on September 4, 2014 at the National Theater of Korea.

My Husband's Lover raised some eyebrows when it premiered on June 2013, but it brought teleseryes to a whole new level, touching on a topic that is rarely discussed on television - homosexuality.

The program took primetime by storm and made the stars of Carla Abellana, Tom Rodriguez, and Dennis Trillo shine brighter -- even creating the TomDen love team. The series ended in October, and was capped with the star-studded One More Try: The My Husband's Lover Concert in the Araneta Coliseum.

Due to popular demand, the concert was brought to the United States the following month, where the cast performed in California, Maryland, and New York.

After MHL, the success of Carla, Tom, and Dennis continued.

Tom and Dennis released their first album titled TomDen, under GMA Records. Its digital format debuted at ninth spot on iTunes Philippines Top Albums' chart, and has now reached platinum status.

Carla and Tom, on the other hand, graced the silver screen this year via the highly successful So It's You, produced by Regal Films. They are set to reunite in the upcoming Kapuso primetime drama My Destiny, together with Rhian Ramos and Sid Lucero. The two are also being romantically linked as they are now both officially single.

Dennis renewed his contract with the Kapuso network last February, and is now busy with two projects - the Cinemalaya entry The Janitor, and the GMA News TV original series Sa Puso ni Doc, where he will star alongside Bela Padilla.

He was one of the recipients of the Dekada Awards given by the PMPC Star Awards for Movies, an award he also received last year.
