Kapuso beauty queen Michelle Dee is extending her support to one of the upcoming contestants to the Miss Universe Philippines beauty pageant, fellow Kapuso beauty Winwyn Marquez.
In one of the more recent posts on her Instagram account, Michelle posted multiple photos of Winwyn at her announcement as the Muntinlupa representative to this year's Miss Universe pageant. In the caption to the post, Michelle wrote that Winwyn would take every step with “pure intentions and nothing but love” for her purpose and her home. Winwyn Marquez was announced as the Muntinlupa representative for the 2025 Miss Universe Philippines pageant at the EDSA Shangri-La Mandaluyong last week.
The Miss Universe Philippines organization had teased the 2025 pageant on its Instagram account, posting a Reel with the pageant's La Mer en Majeste crown, with text above it that reads “Who will be the next Miss Universe Philippines?”
Aside from organizing this year's pageant, the Miss Universe Philippines organization also recently premiered A Queen's Runway, a documentary about the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines pageant that premiered last month at the Shangri-La Mall cinemas. The filmmakers behind the documentary, Erik Sopracasa and Tom Sys, were also in the country for the premiere.
During a press conference held at the premiere, Erik and Tom teased that their project would be making its debut on Netflix “this year.”
“There are still some things that we have to finalize but we are allowed to say that it will be very shortly. You will see some stuff coming out soon,” Erik shared. “What I'd like to say to the global audience is looking through the Philippines through the eyes of Miss Universe. A global audience will also have the idea of the culture and what it is being in the Philippines.”

Winwyn and the other candidates competing in this year's pageant will succeed the first-ever Miss Universe Asia Chelsea Manalo, who has been busy ever since returning from her stint in the Miss Universe pageant.
Just last month, Chelsea was at the Ternocon held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) wearing a creation by Manny Halasan. Ternocon is an event that features reinterpretations of traditional attire like the terno, the Balintawak, and the kimona.
