Former child star Rita Daniela has transformed herself into one of the most promising actors in showbiz.
She got her first break by competing in the reality singing competition for kids, 'PopStar Kids,' which she was declared as its first-ever champion in 2005.
This led Rita and her co-finalists to form a singing group called Sugarpop, and went on to do several shows in GMA-7.
From her kiddie pop star image, she is now regarded as a breakthrough artist of GMA Artist Center not just because of her vocal ability, but also of her acting prowess.

Rita Daniela was introduced as Rita Iringan, her real name, when she joined QTV's 'PopStar Kids,' where she was declared winner, in 2005.
She and her fellow finalists--Julie Anne San Jose, Cholo Bismonte, Vanessa Rangadhol, and Enzo Almario--later on formed the singing group Sugarpop.
Rita was first known as a talented singer but, as she went on with her career on TV, her talent for acting got discovered.
As she ventured into acting, Rita changed her screen name to Rita Guzman in honor of her late grandfather, comedian Teroy De Guzman.
Her first acting project was the 2007 series 'Asian Treasures,' where she played Charlene.
From then on, Rita continuously received projects where she portrayed minor roles in her teenage years.
In 2015, Rita decided to renew her image and changed her screen name once again to Rita Daniela, the one that she would use permanently, in line with the release of her first self-titled album.
It seemed Rita found her luck in her new screen name as she skyrocketed to fame. Frankly, she didn't get lead roles right away, but the projects she has worked on played a huge part in her development as an actress.
She significantly tagged as an effective kontrabida in 'Mundo Mo'y Akin' (2013), 'Villa Quintana' (2013), and 'Impostora' (2017).
In 2015, Rita got her first acting recognition when she was nominated as Best Supporting Actress for the film, 'Asintado,' in the 63rd FAMAS Awards.
After 13 years in showbiz, Rita bagged her accidental first lead role in the 2018 series, 'My Special Tatay.' Here, she earned praises for her portrayal as a prostitute. Meanwhile, her and Ken Chan's unexpected love team is regarded as one of the most successful team ups of today.
Rita and Ken even received awards, like Best Lead Performance in a TV Series and German Moreno Power Tandem of the Year, for their performances in 'My Special Tatay.'
Rita also got nominated for the Best Actress (Tanghalan Stage) category at the GEMS Hiyas ng Sining Awards for the musical play, 'Eto Na! Musical nAPO!'
In 2021, Rita received her first international recognition from the International Film Festival Manhattan -- a special citation for her performance for the film, 'In The Name Of The Mother.'
Rita once again showcased her acting prowess in the now-defunct GMA Afternoon Prime series titled 'Ang Dalawang Ikaw,' which premiered on June 21, 2021. In the said series, Rita and her perennial on-screen partner, Ken Chan, played more mature roles as it showed a tragic love story that involved a rare psychiatric disease.
In December 2021, Rita Daniela starred in the movie titled 'Huling Ulan Sa Tag-Araw,' together with her on-screen partner Ken Chan. The said film is their first movie team-up together and is one of the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival entries.
Fresh from her first movie with Ken Chan, Rita Daniela is all set for her new movie project with Jak Roberto and Albie Casiño for the film 'Madawag Ang Landas Patungong Pag-Asa' directed by Joel Lamangan.
In March 2022, Rita Daniela reached another social media milestone as she gained one million followers on TikTok and more than one million followers on Facebook.
