Damaged hair

Celeste Tuviera's first encounter with Marian Rivera happened just a day before she was introduced to play the titular role of Marimar in the GMA adaptation of the Mexicanovela of the same title in 2007. The hairstylist had done a lot of work to revive the actress' damaged hair because of the harmful hair treatments she did in preparation for the role.

Being underwater and swimming topless

Marian shared that Dyesebel is one of the most challenging roles that she has ever done. Besides being in the water for most of the time as a mermaid, Marian opened up that she felt uncomfortable being topless. Sabi n'ya, 'no, kailangan mong i-feel na ikaw si Dyesebel." Marian knew what portraying the character entails, hence, she did what was asked of her.

Death-defying stunts

The stunts in 'Darna' are dangerous when done wrongly, just imagine doing fight scenes while wearing a harness and hanging in the air. Before Marian entered the taping for the GMA action fantasy series, she did tremendous preparation to be fit for the role. Everything kasi, as much as possible, ayokong nagpapa-double ako."

Medieval Filipino words

The Kapuso Primetime Queen even learned words that were unfamiliar to her, which took a lot of effort to understand. According to Marian, she studied medieval Filipino words as a requirement for her titular TV role as Amaya. And guess what? Marian has been enjoying the fruits of her labor because, until now, she is remembered for her stellar performance in the Kapuso epic series. Truly, nothing great ever comes easy.

Adaptation of a classic - Regal Films; GMA Films

Marian had done several onscreen adaptations but the remake of the classic Pinoy movie 'Temptation Island' is one of the most challenging projects she has ever made. In the 2011 comedy drama film version, Marian played Azenith Briones' character, Cristina.

Doing fight scenes on a fractured toe - Regal Entertainment, Inc.

Marian's Shake Rattle & Roll X' role, Nieves, is very dear to the actress. In fact, she considers it as the best movie that she has ever made. In addition, the role is so memorable for Marian because her toe got fractured while making the movie. Having said that, Marian went on with her scenes while recovering. "Nabalian ako ng paa, na-fracture. Sinemento 'yung paa ko. Nakaupo ako ginagawa ko pa rin 'yung fight scenes," she recalled. Talk about professionalism.

Putting her in a coffin

Bonus entry: The Kapuso actess shed a lot of tears when she was asked to act while in a coffin. Marian had to overcome her fears as the role required her to be put inside a casket when her character died in the GMA adaptation of South Korean series, 'Endless Love.' Ito talaga kabaong," she said.
