EXCLUSIVE: Gazini Ganados, 'I'm not gonna be Catriona, I'm just gonna be Gazini.'

Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados admitted in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com during a press event at the Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City, yesterday, June 26.
As the crowned to represent the country in the upcoming pageant this December, Gazini says that the pressure to not only win the title but also the responsibility of representing the whole country is never to be underestimated.
“If you are trying to achieve something not just for yourself but also for your country, the bigger the responsibility and the bigger the platform is--it is kind of heavy.
“And to me, that responsibility isn't a burden but more of a challenge,” she said.

The Cebuana beauty also mentioned taking strides each day to get her closer to her and the country's dream.
“I am taking up my best foot forward in everything that I do as hard as it is.
“I'm gonna do my best because Catriona has set the bar so high. But I'm not gonna be Catriona, I'm just gonna be Gazini.
“What I can offer, I hope people will try to appreciate because there are times that people would question ourselves.
“But the most important thing is for me to not doubt myself because at the end of the day I will be carrying myself together with all the Filipino citizens.”

Talking about the big day, the new Miss Universe Philippines candidly said that she hasn't done any preparations as she has been busy doing media interviews left and right.
But she's been active in learning more about her advocacy on elderly care.
“We're still occupied at the moment but I'm trying to learn more about my advocacy.
“Because I feel like it's still big, it's still generic, and it's still not yet in the state of having people to understand and be briefed about it.”
