Day6's Jae shares conversation with Park Jin Young supporting his hiatus for mental health

Behind his status as an artist and founder of one of the biggest agencies in Korea, Park Jin Young has a soft spot when it comes to making sure his artists and trainees are well-taken care of once they sign with his company.

This was proven by DAY6 member Jae who showed a heartwarming message he received from the JYP Entertainment founder.

On May 20, Jae posted a screenshot of his conversation on Twitter and Instagram congratulating him on the success of their new track “Zombie,” which Jae helped co-compose.

Jae replied, “Thank you so much! I apologize for the problems I've caused during this comeback. I'll get better asap and get back on the wheel soon.

“I always appreciate your mentorship and demonstration of what an artist should be. Much respect, sir, king of the castle and thank you again so much.”

Park Jin Young then responded, “Take your time, Jae. Your health and happiness are more important than doing shows.

“Isn't being happy the point of our lives? I had to struggle to find what happiness is. It was from 2010 to 2012.

“And now, I don't stumble anymore. Jimmy had to go through that process also in 2015.

“So, I rather have you go through these times and find a true answer to your life instead of just chasing something you don't even know.”

Jae captioned the screenshot with the words, “Our leader.”

It can be recalled that right after the release of their album “The Book of Us: The Demon” on May 11, the whole group decided to temporarily suspend their team activities and promotions to focus on their mental health and anxiety.

JYP Entertainment then released a statement saying, “some of the members showed symptoms of psychological anxiety and received a detailed examination.

“The medical advice was that they needed sufficient rest and stability. After careful discussions between the agency and members, we resolved to temporarily suspend team promotions, including promotions for this upcoming album, in order to focus on recovering their health.”

Days later, Jae took to twitter to share an update with fans.

He stated, “I'm doing better. Thank you for being patient with us and for supporting us so much when we needed it most.

“Hoping to see you all as soon as possible. Stay safe everyone.”

In a prior interview, Park Jin Young has always maintained a soft spot for all his employees' health and well-being.

That's why one of the biggest perks in JYP Entertainment is that it is the only Korean agency that offers all its staff an all-organic food in the company cafeteria that amounts to spending almost 2 billion won per year.

He said, “It always broke my heart [in the past] when parents entrusted their children to us, and these young kids who are still growing would eat things like instant food. That made me feel so guilty since I was partially responsible for looking after them.

He added, “Of course, some of the trainees won't debut [under JYP Entertainment], but as long as they're here, they're my responsibility.”

And believe it or not, it has a direct impact on how these trainees perform.

He continued to explain, “It's improving their chances for success. If our artists and our employees end up healthier, then our company will ultimately end up doing better.

“For that, I'm willing to spend 2 billion won a year.”
