Frankie Pangilinan to weigh consequences before filing to NBI

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

Frankie Pangilinan shared an update on the ongoing issue about her and Sonny Alcos, who posted a rape threat on her online.

In a tweet made yesterday evening, June 22, the 19-year-old admitted that pressing charges against Sonny has given a huge weight on her shoulders.

Clarifying, “I had no idea about that NBI crap and it's really upsetting me if one vile tweet against me is more important to them than the several real cases of sexual assault and rape. I'm deeply sorry for the injustice.

“This whole thing got so much bigger than I ever intended it to.

"It was something that hurt me briefly and that was it. It shouldn't take precedence over anyone else's cases, most especially those more grave, and I truly hate that it might.”

Adding, “I'm so so so sorry. This is exactly what I was so worried about. I'll fix it promise.”

Several hours later, the eldest daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan said that she's currently weighing the consequences if she pushes through with the case.

She said earlier, “Okay, so-- there is no NBI case until I file [no one can file without me] and I haven't filed yet while I weigh the consequences.

“I want to set an example and fight for my own justice but never at the expense of others.

“To my understanding, everything the Department of Justice has done thus far has been of their own choosing.

“Basta, hindi pa po ako nakapag-file at hindi po puwedeng mag-file ang iba hangga't ibinigay ko ang aking pahintulot. Pinag-iisipan ko po nang malalim.”

According to the Department of Justice Secretary Menandro Guevarra, Sonny Alcos's threat to rape the young Pangilinan is covered under the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines.

He said to 24 Oras, “'Yung mga ganun, constitute threats and punishable under our Revised Penal Code.

“So, kung idinaan mo 'yan sa internet, sa social media, then, naa-aggravate 'yung imposable penalty kasi it creates 'yung fear, ano.

“Nandoon na, e. Na-commit mo na 'yung gusto mo, 'yung objective na gusto mong ma-achieve--takutin 'yung tao.”

The report follows after Frankie's mom, Sharon Cuneta, went viral last Saturday after reading Sonny's intent and warned him: “Hahanapin kita. I. Will. Find. You.”

Sharon has reportedly found the details of Sonny Alcos, who is currently residing in London, United Kingdom.

Frankie Pangilinan, unfazed by criticisms: “I'm not sorry for standing up for myself.”
