Lady Gaga reveals meaning behind '911' music video

On September 19, Lady Gaga released a visual treat for her fans in the form of a music video for her latest song, “911,” off her album “Chromatica.”

But the edgy and visually-intriguing short film, according to the American singer, was inspired by her issues about mental health.

In an interview for Apple Music, Lady Gaga shared that “911” is about the antipsychotic medication Olanzapine--a drug that has been prescribed to her.

“It's because I can't always control things my brain does. I know that. And I have to take medication to stop the process that occurs,” she explained.

On her Instagram, the pop star further shed light on the significance of the music video in her life.

She wrote, “This short film is very personal to me, my experience with mental health and the way reality and dreams can interconnect to form heroes within us and all around us.

“It's been years since I felt so alive in my creativity to make together what we did with '911.'

“Thank you little monsters. I'm awake now, I can see you, I can feel you, thank you for believing in me when I was very afraid. Something that was once my real-life every day is now a film, a true story that is now the past and not the present. It's the poetry of pain.”

At this writing, "911" has garnered more than 11 million views and currently holds the #7 spot on YouTube Philippines' trending page.
