This year, Pepito Manaloto star Maureen Larrazabal's birthday celebration is a bit different and more special, after the talented comedienne survived her bout with COVID-19.

Last weekend, the character actress happily announced to her followers on Instagram that she tested negative for coronavirus.

Maureen learned that she was an asymptomatic patient in a test conducted by GMA Network back in August.

Yesterday, September 23, the Kapuso star uploaded a short video on Instagram to thank everyone who greeted her on her birthday.

“Birthday ko today, naisip ko I'll make a video na lang to thank everyone na nag-pray for me and nagbigay ng mga messages.

“And nag-greet sa akin, maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyo, mamaya 'pag nag-pray ako isasama ko kayo lahat sa prayers ko.”

Before ending her video, Maureen reminded all her followers to always wear their mask amid this pandemic.

“Tapos, sana kung ano man nasa puso n'yo ay matupad, 'yan isasama ko 'yan sa wish ko. Maraming, maraming salamat, stay safe, and always wear you mask.”

In her exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Maureen also shared the strict protocols being followed during the tapings of Pepito Manaloto to keep everyone safe from the highly-contagious disease.

“Actually very strict ang Pepito Manaloto, when it comes to that because ang Pepito kasi is like a family, so ang concern talaga nila is the safety of everyone.

“So prior to the taping schedule, marami kaming series of Zoom meetings. May mga memos nang inalabas, inexplain nila isa-isa 'yung mga do's and don't's sa tapings to a point na we are all laughing kasi medyo, 'Uy, nakakapanibago.'”
