Korean stars Seo Ye-ji and Kim Jung-hyun were revealed to be former lovers by Korean media outlet Dispatch on April 12.

Dispatch stated that the two were officially together for quite some time and dated privately. The media outlet further revealed through text messages allegedly between Seo Ye-ji and Kim Jung-hyun how the actress ordered Kim Jung-hyun to avoid onscreen skinship or physical contact with his then co-star Girls' Generation member Seohyun for their 2018 drama Time.

Seo Ye-ji was also rumored to have asked for a script to be changed to lessen the romantic scenes between Kim Hyun-jung and his co-star.

“Correct it well so there is no romance. You are happy because of me. So make me happier,” she told the actor in their text exchange. In another text message, Kim Jung-hyun informed her, “I'm reading the script.” to which Seo Ye-ji replied, “Yes. Fix it well. No skinship. No romance” and he answered, “Sure.”

The actress was also said to have asked Kim Jung-hyun to take audio and video recordings during filming and send them to her.

Kim Jung-hyun has also been rumored to be aloof and cold on the set of Time, which fans now speculate might have been due to Seo Ye-ji's alleged demands. He, later on, left the drama halfway for health reasons such as an eating disorder and panic attacks.

O& Entertainment has released an official statement regarding the issue between Kim Jung-hyun and Seo Ye-ji, "We don't know anything about this. We have nothing to say, especially since we're in dispute with the actor as well."

Currently, Kim Jung-hyun is in disagreement with his agency, O& Entertainment, about the expiration of his exclusive contract. O& Entertainment is said to be claiming that Kim Jung-hyun's contract should be extended by up to 11 months to make up for the time that he took a break after leaving Time.

Meanwhile, Seo Ye-ji's agency Gold Medalist briefly gave a statement, "We are looking into this."

Seo Ye-ji is widely known for her 2020 drama with Kim Soo-hyun, It's Okay to Not Be Okay while Kim Jung-hyun is known for 2019 drama Crash Landing On You.

Meanwhile, Seo Ye-ji has been nominated as Best Actress in the upcoming prestigious 57th Baeksang Awards.
