Julie Anne San Jose on finding the one: 'There is no rush the right love will come to you.'
Two months since her billboard graced the glitzy Times Square in New York City and Julie Anne San Jose remains in awe of it all.
Speaking to Preview Philippines, Julie Anne recounted the moment when she was told about the planned billboard.
The digital billboard featuring Julie Anne was for the music streaming platform Spotify.
Julie Anne was the cover Spotify Philippines' EQUAL playlist at the time.
“Universal Records called me and they were like, 'O, Jules balak nila ilagay 'yong picture mo sa Spotify pero sa Times Square 'to sa New York,'” Julie Anne recalled being informed by someone from the music label.
“I was like, 'Are you for real?' Hindi ko talaga siya inexpect. Siyempre, thankful din ako na my song, one of my songs, which was 'Free,' was naging part siya ng Spotify Equal Playlist not just here in the Philippines but also on their global playlist… sobrang surreal and really unexpected.”
Julie Anne considers the honor as one of the proudest moments of her career.
“It's a dream come true that they acknowledge my music and OPM as well, which has played a huge part of our everyday lives and it's a great honor to represent our country and contribute in my own little way.”
Julie Anne was also asked to give love advice to those still searching to find that special someone after a heartbreak.
“You know I'm so good in giving advices pero 'yong advice hindi ko nasusunod sa sarili ko minsan,” she laughs.
Turning serious, Julie Anne said, “Don't pressure yourself. Just take all the time that you need and love yourself more.
“There is no rush in love because the right love will come to you. If you haven't found your soul mate yet, that doesn't mean that the spark of your life is all about waiting.
“You know you will be happy when you found the right one, but it doesn't mean that you can't be happy right now.
“So just enjoy. Live your life to the fullest. Your life is meaningful the way it is.”
Meanwhile, Julie Anne is gearing up for the premiere of Limitless, A Musical Trilogy happening on September 17.
The three-part musical journey is set to unveil the different facets of Julie as a singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and multi-instrumentalist.
